The Cao Bang provincial People’s Committee and the Vietnam Buddhist Church’s Central Committee Work initiated the construction of the Phat Tich Truc Lam Ban Gioc Pagoda on the Phia Nham Mountain, Dam Thuy commune, Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang Province, on June 15th.
The 2-hectare pagoda, designed in the traditional Vietnamese pagoda style, was built at a cost of VND 18 billion from the community through the Vietnam Buddhist Church’s Central Committee. The magnificent view of the Ban Gioc Waterfall can be enjoyed from the pagoda.
The provincial highway 211 and the Ban Goc Waterfall is in the north of the pagoda, the Phia Nham Mountain in the south, the Ban Gioc Resort in the east, and the Ban Gioc village’s residential area in the west.
The Phat Tich Truc Lam Ban Gioc Pagoda is a great significant and practical structure for religious demands and tourism in the Ban Gioc Waterfall as a key tourist site in Cao Bang Province, as put forward in the Prime Minister’s vision to 2020.
The pagoda is expected to be completed in late 2014.
